The region, which has hosted many civilizations since the earliest periods of history, is located in a geography having the traces of historical and cultural values.The region, which is quite fortunate in terms of culture and tourism values compared to many parts of the world, is an attraction centre that can serve tourism in all seasons of the year with a variety of tourism sectors such as culture and nature tourism, agro-tourism, thermal tourism, as well as the classical tourism with sea, sand and sun. In addition to this, Bodrum, Kuşadası, Ephesus, Pamukkale, Aphrodisias shine out with their astonishing beauties.

The region, due to its geographical location  has been an important settlement center since the early ages. İzmir, Manisa and Uşak Provinces are located in the north of the region; Afyon, Burdur and Antalya Provinces are located in the east of the region.

 The Aegean Sea draws a line through the western border, while the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean draws a line through the southern border of the region. The coastline of Muğla and Aydın provinces that make up the Aegean and Mediterranean coasts of the region exceeds 1,250 km in total. The coastline is longer than the total coastal lengths of many countries Therefore, it is  the tourism center of the region and it owns  seven small and large ports .The region is both window to the World and a bridge between Mediterranean and Aegean Region. Considering that the Aegean region has rich tourism investment, it is obvious that there is also a need for trained personnel.

Due to the fact that it is a service sector and labor-intensive, a decrease in employment is not anticipated, on the contrary, the need for qualified personnel is increasing day by day.The Culinary Programme, which is within the Hotel Restaurant and Catering Services Department, provides a wide range of employment opportunities in the developing tourism industry. It includes service sectors such as restaurants, cafeterias, bars, patisseries, institutions that provide mass nutrition and service areas where products are made ready for service and presented to customers in accordance with hygiene and sanitation rules.

Our Vocational School by planning to introduce Culinary Programme aims to train personnel who are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to compete in the international arena, are capable of  working in the field of culinary management, and  specialized in food science, food preparation and standard development, food hygiene, world cuisine, kitchen management & control, and creative food culture.

Students who graduate from this programme have opportunity to work  in restaurant management,  cooking & pastry,  various fields of activity of food &beverage businesses and hospitality sector, touristic facilities, kitchens of private or public institutions,food factories due to the fact that they have received training in kitchen management, service and cooking techniques and small business administration.
