General Information


ADU,Söke Vocational School was founded by law number 3837 enacted on the 1st of July, 1992 and went into action with the director Prof. Akgün AYDENİZ.
The education began with 49 students of Textile and Automotive Technologies on the 10th of October, 1994. 


Söke is the largest district of Aydın in terms of an area and it has an area of 1356 square kilometers. It is located in the west of the province. Koçarlı is located in the east, Germencik is in the north east, Kuşadası is in the north and north west, the Aegean Sea is in the west and south West of Söke. Milas, district of Muğla, is in the South of Söke. It is 110 kilometers from İzmir and 54 kilometers from Aydın. According to the results of the 2012 census, the center population of Söke is 70.522, the population of its towns and villages is 45.064, and the total population of the district is 115.586.

The history of Söke goes back to 5000 years ago. Respectively, Hittites, Ionians, Phrygians, Lydians, Persians, Macedonians, Roman, Byzantine and Turks ruled the region. Three of the considerable Ionian ports (Miletos, Priene and Myus) of the first age were within the borders of Söke.

The Söke Plain, which was a grassland and sanctuary for the animals of the nomads with its large grasslands until the 1950s, is the application area of modern and exemplary agriculture today. It was formed as a result of the alluvium brought by the Büyük Menderes River filling up the sea. The products grown in the plain are grains, vegetables and fruits as well as industrial plants. It has an extensive potential in terms of cotton agriculture.

Five industries that produce cement, textiles, clothing, flour and ceramics exist within the borders of our district.


 Our vocational school maintains its administrative and educational activities in a building with an area of 3200 square meter with 13 programmes. Söke vocational school in which academic staff from other departments also lecture, provides education and training services with 21 academic staff.

Besides  having a  cafeteria, a  dining hall and a basketball-volleyball court, the building of Söke Vocational School contains 13 classrooms, a conference hall, a Sewing Workshop, an Automotive Workshop, an Electromechanical Control Workshop, a Measurement and Electronics Workshop, a Mechatronics Workshop, a Textile Laboratory, a Design Workshop, a Computer Laboratory, a CAD Laboratory,


Students have two-year education in Söke Vocational School. The current number of  students for the 2020-2021 Academic year is 1402.
