Application Requirements
ARTICLE 6- (1) Candidates who meet the following conditions can apply for the international student admission quotas:
A) On the condition that applicant international students are in their last year of high school or graduated from high school;
1) those who are foreign nationals, (provided that those who are studying in secondary education institutions (high schools) in Türkiye have enrolled before the 2022-2023 academic year [except for embassy schools, international private education institutions included in the MOBIS system and foreign nationals brought to Türkiye within the framework of the project carried out by the Ministry of National Education of Türkiye])
2) those who are Turkish citizens by birth, but acquired permission to leave Turkish citizenship from the Ministry of the Interior and holders of the Blue Card issued upon request to those who have renounced their Turkish citizenship (provided that those who are studying in secondary education institutions (high schools) in Türkiye have enrolled before the 2022-2023 academic year) (According to the provision in Article 7 of the 5901 Numbered Turkish Citizenship Law “(1) those who were born in Türkiye or abroad to a Turkish citizen mother or father within a conjugal union are Turkish citizens by birth”. Therefore, applicants as international students are advised to read the aforementioned law),
3) those who are foreign nationals by birth but have acquired Turkish citizenship later and therefore hold dual citizenship, (provided that those who are studying in secondary education institutions (high schools) in Türkiye have enrolled before the 2022-2023 academic year),
4) Turkish nationals who completed their entire secondary education (high school) in a foreign country other than the TRNC (including those who completed their entire secondary education (high school) in a foreign country other than the TRNC in Turkish schools opened under the auspices of the Ministry of National Education),
5) citizens of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), who reside in the TRNC and have completed secondary education in the TRNC and have GCE AL (General Certificate of Education Advanced Level) results; and those who have been enrolled in foreign high schools abroad between 2005-2010 and have or will have GCE AL results.
B) Candidates whose applications are not acceptable are:
1) those who are Turkish citizens and have completed all their secondary (high school) education in Türkiye or the TRNC,
2) those holding TRNC citizenship (except those who have completed their secondary (high school) education in the TRNC and hold GCE-AL exam results and also those educated at colleges and high schools in a different country between 2005-2010 and have or will have GCE-AL exam results),
3) those defined by article A clause 2, with dual nationality of which the first nationality was Turkish at birth (except for those who fulfil article A clause 4),
4) those who have dual citizenship of which one is TRNC, (except those who have completed their secondary education (High School) in the TRNC and hold GCE AL exam results and also those registered and educated at colleges and high schools in a different country between 2005-2010 and have or will have GCE AL exam results),
5) those with Turkish citizenship who have studied in a foreign high school in Türkiye and schools within the structure of Embassies in Türkiye or those stated in the clause 2 of Article A defining Turkish citizens by birth with dual citizenship.
6) TRNC citizens who have enrolled in secondary education institutions in Türkiye from the 2022-2023 academic year, those who have left their Turkish citizenship/Blue Card holders and foreign nationals (other than embassy schools, International private education institutions in the MOBIS system and foreigners staying in our country within the framework of the project carried out by the Ministry of National Education)
