BIOGRAPHY

Prof. Dr. Olcay ÜZENGİ AKTÜRK graduated from Ege University, Department of Physics, Theoretical Physics Programs, İzmir/Turkey at 1999. In 1999, She began her graduated studies at department of physics in Anadolu University and completed her M.Sc. degree with the thesis title of “Conduction Mechanisms in Solids” in 2002. After that, She worked as research assistant in the Department of Physics at Adnan Menderes University between 2002 and 2003. In 2004, She started her PhD studies at department of physics in Middle East Technical University . Completed her PhD degree with the thesis title of “Density Functional Investigation of Nano-Structures” in 2010.
She worked as Asst. Prof. Dr. at Department of Physics in Adnan Menderes University between 2011-2015. She won Postdoctoral fellowship (2219)from the TUBITAK. Between 2012 January and 2013 February, She worked on Photocatalytic reduction of CO2 at noble metal clusters supported on semiconductors at Technische Universitat Munchen, Catalysis Research Center and Theoretical Chemistry as a Post Doc. 

She worked on 2D materials-nano structures as visiting scientist at Technische Unv. Munich, Walter Schottky Institute  Center for Nanotechnology and Nanomaterial between 1February 2021-31 July 2022.

She worked as Assoc. Prof. Dr in the Department of Electrical&Electronics Engineering، at Adnan Menderes University، Aydin، Turkey since July 2015-2020.  She works as Prof. Dr. in the Department of Electrical&Electronics Engineering، at Adnan Menderes University، Aydin، Turkey  (2020 - )

 Managed Master Thesis: The Investigation of the interaction of magnetic nano clusters and molecules, surfaces by using density functional theory.

 Research Interests: Nano-Structures, First Principles Methods, Composite Materials, Semiconductor devices

Publications: 4 conference proceedings، more than 45 scientific papers in the field of electronic structure of nano-structures, impurities, first principle methods, composite materials in SCI. She knows English.
