Adnan Menderes University Psychology Department was established on 06.05.2005. Academic staff, Hacer Harlak as an associated professor and Özgen Yalçın as a research assistant began active duty on 04.09.2006 and on 01.03.2011, respectively. At the first quarter of 2013 Tolga Köskün, Özge Sarıot and Gamze Karadayı and at the first quarter of 2014 Gözde Sayın got involved the academic staff as research assistants.
The chair person of the department is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hacer Harlak.
Teaching at undergraduate level has not been started yet. The primary aim of the department is starting undergraduate education after improving educational infrastructure sufficiently. Integrated Clinical Psychology PhD Program was started in 2013-2014 academic year with the support of the academic staff of the Psychiatry Department. Additionally, several undergraduate and graduate level courses of other departments are lectured by the psychology department.
